Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases--a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with, and way less experience in the dating department than the average thirty-year-old.

It doesn't help that Stella has Asperger's and French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. Her conclusion: she needs lots of practice--with a professional. Which is why she hires escort Michael Phan. The Vietnamese and Swedish stunner can't afford to turn down Stella's offer, and agrees to help her check off all the boxes on her lesson plan--from foreplay to more-than-missionary position...

Before long, Stella not only learns to appreciate his kisses, but crave all of the other things he's making her feel. Their no-nonsense partnership starts making a strange kind of sense. And the pattern that emerges will convince Stella that love is the best kind of logic...

~Things I Enjoyed~

  • I really loved the autistic representation in this book. My brother has autism and I love when I find books that represent it and represent it very well. Stella is such a lovable character. She’s beautiful. She’s smart. She’s talented. She’s everything anyone could ever want in a person. I’m glad Helen did an amazing job writing her.
  • The romance in this book was steamy. I really enjoyed my time reading it and I honestly wish there was more of it! After listening to a review on Booktube by Ashley Outpaged, I was really expecting dick everywhere like she claimed. Her review was hilarious and it gave me more incentive to pick this book up. I love myself a good romance and I’m trying really hard to not be ashamed about it.
  • Michael. Michael. Michael. Michael. UM. What can I say about him besides I think I might be in love with him?? Stella, you gotta move over! I found this part of the book to be my favorite. The fact that Michael is an escort is kind of sexy. I think the reason I like it so much is because he’s not doing it for himself. He’s a selfless person and I adore that of him.
  • I love the Asian representation. I feel like it really added to this book and the story. I feel like this book could have taught me many things about Michael’s culture, I just feel like it wasn’t touched on enough. I really loved all the interactions with his family.
~Things I Didn't Like~

  • I honestly love this book. I think the only thing that I disliked was Michael not being honest about his feelings for her. He should have cleared that up before breaking it off with Stella. I know it was apart of this book but it really annoyed me. Especially with him knowing how her brain works.
  • The pressuring of women producing children. It’s one of the first topics of the book and I didn’t quite like it. It shouldn’t be expected of a woman to provide grandchildren and she definitely shouldn’t be rushed into it if she isn’t ready. I did like that when she asked her mom to back off, she understood.
~Overall Thoughts~

I loved this book. I didn’t want to put it down. It captivated me very early in the book and I really loved that about it. It was quick to get to business. I’ll definitely pick up more books by Helen Hoang in the future. Especially if she continues to put amazing representation in her books. If you like a good steamy book and a book with great representation, this is your book! This book was absolutely perfect.
